Description
A warm and quick breakfast featuring sweet cooked apples and melted cheese, perfect for busy mornings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large tortillas
- 2 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or Monterey Jack)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Maple syrup (for serving, optional)
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced apples, cinnamon, and sugar. Cook until the apples are tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the apple mixture from the skillet and set aside.
- Place one tortilla in the same skillet and sprinkle with cheese.
- Add the apple mixture on top of the cheese, then add more cheese before topping with the second tortilla.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the tortillas are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Cut into wedges and serve warm with maple syrup if desired.
Notes
Use firm apples for best results and moderate the heat to avoid burning the tortilla. Serve immediately for a gooey cheese experience.
