Description

A warm and quick breakfast featuring sweet cooked apples and melted cheese, perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large tortillas
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Maple syrup (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced apples, cinnamon, and sugar. Cook until the apples are tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the apple mixture from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Place one tortilla in the same skillet and sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Add the apple mixture on top of the cheese, then add more cheese before topping with the second tortilla.
  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the tortillas are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  7. Cut into wedges and serve warm with maple syrup if desired.

Notes

Use firm apples for best results and moderate the heat to avoid burning the tortilla. Serve immediately for a gooey cheese experience.
