Description

A delightful Sweet Breakfast Croissant Casserole perfect for cozy mornings, featuring tender croissant pieces soaked in a rich, creamy custard and topped with fresh berries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 croissants, torn into pieces
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Fresh berries (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until combined.
  3. Gently add the torn croissant pieces to the egg mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (overnight is better).
  6. Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and set.
  7. Let cool for a couple of minutes, then dust with powdered sugar and serve with fresh berries.

Notes

Use high-quality or day-old croissants for the best results. Allow croissants to soak in custard adequately for optimal texture.
