Description
These chewy candy apple cookies are packed with warm fall spices, fresh apples, and topped with a candy drizzle for a nostalgic autumn bite.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples (peeled, diced)
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Candy melts or white chocolate for drizzle
Instructions
1. Peel, core, and dice the apples into small pieces.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in the vanilla.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet, mixing until just combined.
6. Fold in the diced apples.
7. Refrigerate dough for 30–60 minutes.
8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
9. Scoop dough onto the sheet and bake for 11–13 minutes until edges are golden.
10. Cool completely before drizzling melted candy coating or white chocolate on top.
Notes
Use tart apples like Granny Smith for contrast against the sweet drizzle.
Add caramel bits, chopped nuts, or toffee for fun variations.
Store at room temperature for 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
