Description

Caramel Apple Dip is a quick, no-bake fall treat made with a fluffy cream cheese base and a glossy caramel layer. It’s sweet, tangy, and perfect with crisp apple slices, graham crackers, or pretzels.

Ingredients

Scale

Base:

8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 Tbsp granulated sugar

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 Tbsp heavy cream (optional, for extra silkiness)

Topping:

1/2 cup thick caramel sauce or dulce de leche

Pinch flaky sea salt (optional)

Optional Crunch:

1/3 cup toffee bits or finely chopped pecans

For Serving:

Assorted apple slices (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji)

Graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or pretzels

Instructions

1. Let cream cheese sit at room temperature 20–30 minutes until fully softened.

2. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream (if using) until smooth, light, and lump-free.

3. Spread the cream cheese mixture into a shallow serving dish or pie plate.

4. Spoon caramel sauce over the top and gently spread into an even, glossy layer. Sprinkle flaky sea salt if desired.

5. Add toffee bits or chopped pecans for crunch (optional).

6. Cover and chill at least 30 minutes (up to 24 hours) to let flavors meld.

7. Serve chilled with apple slices, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or pretzels. Keep cold during parties for best texture.

Notes

Use room-temperature cream cheese for a silky base; cold cream cheese causes lumps.

If using a thinner caramel, chill the dip a little longer so the top sets nicely.

To prevent apple browning, briefly soak slices in 1 Tbsp lemon juice + 1 cup water, then pat dry.

Make-ahead: prepare the base up to 1 day in advance, add caramel and toppings just before serving.

Storage: cover and refrigerate 4–5 days. Freezing isn’t recommended; dairy and caramel can separate.
