Description

A delightful blend of flaky croissants, custard, and melted chocolate, perfect for brunch or indulgent breakfasts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 croissants, torn into pieces
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Place the torn croissant pieces in the baking dish and optionally toss in extra chocolate chips.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Pour the custardy mixture evenly over the croissants.
  5. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
  6. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes to absorb the custard.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and the top is set.
  8. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using day-old croissants for better absorption.
