Description

A soothing and spiced Christmas Chai Latte that warms the spirit, perfect for holiday gatherings and cozy moments at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups milk (or a plant-based alternative)
  • 1 tbsp black tea leaves (or 2 black tea bags)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • A pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp of the prepared spice mix

Instructions

  1. Prepare the spice mix by combining cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, and black pepper in a bowl. Set aside 1/4 teaspoon for later.
  2. In a saucepan, combine water, black tea, brown sugar, and remaining spice mix. Heat over medium until simmering.
  3. Reduce heat to low and stir in the milk. Steep for about 5 minutes.
  4. Strain the chai into mugs to remove tea leaves and sediments.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk heavy cream, honey, and reserved spice mix until soft peaks form.
  6. Spoon or pipe whipped cream onto chai latte and sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg to serve.

Notes

Adjust sweetness to taste and feel free to customize spice levels for your preference.
