Description

A sweet breakfast with crisp sugar coating and soft cream cheese filling, perfect for brunch or a special treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 slices thick-cut bread (brioche or Texas toast)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp butter (for frying)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread mixture on 4 slices of bread, then top with remaining slices to form sandwiches.
  2. Make the Egg Mixture: In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and salt.
  3. Cook the French Toast: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt butter. Dip each stuffed sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Coat in Cinnamon Sugar: In a shallow dish, mix sugar and cinnamon. Immediately after cooking, coat each French toast in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  5. Serve & Enjoy: Serve warm with maple syrup, whipped cream, or chocolate sauce for extra indulgence!

Notes

Use softened cream cheese for easy spreading. Do not soak the bread too long or it will fall apart. Cook on medium heat to ensure the center heats through without burning the outside. Roll the hot toast in cinnamon sugar immediately for best adhesion.
