Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream butter and sugars together in a bowl.
- Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture, then add chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Notes
Chill the dough for 20-30 minutes if it’s too soft for scooping. Store baked cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
