- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 4 cups hash browns
- 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until combined.
- Add in the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, stirring until incorporated.
- Layer the hash browns in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the cooked bacon over the hash browns.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bacon and hash browns.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before slicing, and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
Letting the casserole cool slightly before slicing helps it set properly. For a spicier version, consider adding diced jalapeños.
