Description

A warm and comforting breakfast casserole with layers of eggs, crispy bacon, and melty cheese, perfect for brunch or holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups hash browns
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until combined.
  3. Add in the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, stirring until incorporated.
  4. Layer the hash browns in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the cooked bacon over the hash browns.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bacon and hash browns.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top.
  8. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing, and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Letting the casserole cool slightly before slicing helps it set properly. For a spicier version, consider adding diced jalapeños.
