Description

Quick and crispy air fryer sweet potato cubes that make a perfect side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes (about 1.5 pounds total)
  • 1 to 1.5 tablespoons oil (avocado or olive oil)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (or smoked paprika)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, pinch of cinnamon, or 1 teaspoon brown sugar for sweet heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Cut sweet potatoes into 3/4-inch cubes and pat dry if needed.
  3. Toss the cubes with oil and spices in a large bowl until coated.
  4. Load the basket in a single layer, ensuring some space between cubes.
  5. Cook at 400°F for 12 to 16 minutes, shaking the basket halfway. Start checking at 12 minutes for golden edges and a fork-tender center.
  6. Finish with a tiny pinch of salt while hot. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired.

Notes

For extra crunch, dust the cubes with 1 teaspoon of cornstarch before tossing with oil. Store cooked leftovers in the fridge for 3 to 4 days and reheat in the air fryer.
