Description
A rich and savory baked rice dish made with onion soup mix and beef broth, perfect as a side for many mains.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 1 packet French onion soup mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F and lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Mix the rice, French onion soup mix, beef broth, and water in the baking dish until evenly combined.
- Slice the butter into thin pats and arrange them over the top of the mixture.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake uncovered for another 30 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve warm.
Notes
Greasing the dish prevents sticking. Thin butter pats melt faster for even flavor. Covering traps steam for cooking. Remove foil to brown the top. Fluffing keeps the grains loose.
