Description

A beautifully braided pastry filled with a luscious combination of sweet and savory ingredients, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry (two sheets)
  • 1 cup of ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup of grated mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon of water)
  • Optional: fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the two sheets of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface, overlapping slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Place the filling in the center of the puff pastry, leaving room around the edges to fold over.
  5. Make cuts diagonally into the pastry at 1-inch intervals along the sides.
  6. Fold each strip of pastry over the filling, alternating sides to create a braided look.
  7. Brush the ring with the egg wash.
  8. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes, until puffed and golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

For best results, avoid overfilling and ensure the edges are sealed well to prevent leaks.
