Description

A comforting, light dish featuring tender turkey meatballs paired with creamy tzatziki, perfect for a weeknight dinner or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine turkey, onion, garlic, parsley, mint, oregano, salt, pepper, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs about 1-1.5 inches in diameter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare tzatziki by combining Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt and pepper to taste in a bowl.
  6. Press out excess moisture from the cucumber before adding it to the yogurt.
  7. Serve the warm meatballs with tzatziki on the side, garnished with extra parsley if desired.

Notes

Use lean ground turkey for juicier meatballs, and don’t forget to squeeze the cucumber for the tzatziki to prevent it from getting watery.
