Instructions
- Wash apples thoroughly and cut each apple into quarters.
- Toss apples into a large pot along with the sliced orange, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and brown sugar.
- Add enough water to cover the fruit mixture.
- Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce heat and let simmer for 1 to 2 hours.
- Use a potato masher to mash the mixture and release juices.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl or pitcher.
