Ingredients

  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ¾ cup hot fudge sauce
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in hot fudge sauce and chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Drizzle with warmed hot fudge sauce and sprinkle with extra chocolate chips if desired.
