- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup macaroni noodles
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Ketchup (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the macaroni noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked macaroni, chopped onion, minced garlic, milk, egg, breadcrumbs, and salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish, pressing down to spread evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top and add a layer of ketchup if desired.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes until cooked through and cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Don’t overcook the macaroni to avoid a mushy texture. Allow the casserole to rest after baking to ensure clean slices.
