- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually stir in the buttermilk until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times.
- Roll or pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness.
- Cut into rounds and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Preheating to a high temperature helps the biscuits rise quickly. Do not overmix once buttermilk is added to keep the crumb light.
