Ingredients
Scale
- 1 whole or half bone-in turkey breast (or boneless)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 ½ teaspoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- ½ teaspoon fresh sage, chopped
Instructions
- If your turkey breast is frozen, thaw it in the refrigerator for about 24 hours for every 5 pounds.
- About 20 minutes before roasting, take the turkey out of the fridge to bring it closer to room temperature.
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs until smooth.
- Pat the turkey breast dry and season the outside with salt and pepper.
- Gently loosen the skin of the turkey and spread herb butter underneath and on the surface.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and roast for about 14–15 minutes per pound, checking the internal temperature at 165°F (74°C).
- Once roasted, tent the turkey with aluminum foil and let it rest for at least 15 minutes before carving.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to ensure accurate cooking. Leftovers can be stored for 3-4 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to 6 months.
