- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup molasses

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ground ginger, cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and packed brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Using rounded tablespoons, drop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each one.
- Bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until the edges firm up and the centers remain slightly soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For added flavor, you can customize the spices or add chocolate chips to the dough.
