Description

Deliciously soft and chewy gingerbread cookies infused with warm spices, perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ground ginger, cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and packed brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Using rounded tablespoons, drop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each one.
  7. Bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until the edges firm up and the centers remain slightly soft.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
