A simple recipe for sugar cookie icing that hardens to create beautifully decorated cookies with a glossy finish.
Ingredients

- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 ½ tbsp corn syrup
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ tbsp milk or water (cold)
- Gel food coloring
Instructions
- Sift the powdered sugar into a medium to large bowl.
- Add corn syrup and vanilla extract; mix well.
- Stir in the cold milk or water until you achieve a smooth consistency.
- If desired, divide into smaller bowls and add gel food coloring for different colors.
- Use the icing immediately for decorating or let it set at room temperature.
Notes
This icing can be stored in the fridge for up to a week. If too thick, add more milk or water. Let it set completely before stacking baked cookies.
