Description

A quick and easy layered oven dish featuring taco flavors, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 6 small corn tortillas
  • 1 can corn (drained, optional)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (optional)
  • Sour cream and chopped green onions for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and salsa, and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Layer the tortillas, taco meat mixture, and cheese in a baking dish. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
  5. If using, add corn or diced tomatoes in between layers.
  6. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm with sour cream and green onions if desired.

Notes

Preheat the oven for even cooking. Drain excess fat to prevent a watery dish. Let the casserole rest before slicing for best results.
