Description
Thick, fudgy brownies with colorful M&M’s, perfect for sweet lovers and small gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 to 2 cups M&M’s (depending on preference)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing or lining with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and let it cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined and glossy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the M&M’s gently, reserving a few for topping if desired.
- Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until edges are firm and center might jiggle slightly.
- Cool in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
Notes
Let the butter cool a bit so it does not cook the eggs. Mix just until combined to avoid a dry texture. Use the toothpick test at 25 minutes to check the center.
