Description

Thick, fudgy brownies with colorful M&M’s, perfect for sweet lovers and small gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 to 2 cups M&M’s (depending on preference)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing or lining with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined and glossy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the M&M’s gently, reserving a few for topping if desired.
  8. Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until edges are firm and center might jiggle slightly.
  10. Cool in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares.

Notes

Let the butter cool a bit so it does not cook the eggs. Mix just until combined to avoid a dry texture. Use the toothpick test at 25 minutes to check the center.
