- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup white sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
- Cream together the butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until smooth in a large bowl.
- Beat in the egg and extracts.
- Blend in the dry ingredients gradually.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and roll in the remaining sugar.
- Place onto ungreased cookie sheets about 1 1/2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden.
- Cool on wire racks to finish.
Notes
For best results, don’t overmix the dough. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
