Description
This easy candied pecans recipe is a quick, tasty treat featuring a sweet glaze of brown sugar and spices. Perfect for snacking or adding to salads.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups pecan halves (170g)
- 6 tablespoons brown sugar (75g)
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ tablespoons water, or more as needed
- 2 teaspoons orange zest (optional)
- Pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- Make the glaze by adding brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, vanilla, and water to a skillet.
- Heat the mixture on medium, stirring until it bubbles, about a minute.
- Add the pecans and stir to coat them in the glaze.
- Cook for a few minutes until the nuts look shiny and toasted.
- Transfer the nuts to the baking sheet and let them cool completely before serving.
Notes
Watch the nuts closely to avoid burning. If the glaze thickens too much, add a bit more water for a smooth consistency.
