Description

This easy candied pecans recipe is a quick, tasty treat featuring a sweet glaze of brown sugar and spices. Perfect for snacking or adding to salads.


Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar (75g)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ tablespoons water, or more as needed
  • 2 teaspoons orange zest (optional)
  • Pinch cayenne pepper (optional)


Instructions

  1. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Make the glaze by adding brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, vanilla, and water to a skillet.
  3. Heat the mixture on medium, stirring until it bubbles, about a minute.
  4. Add the pecans and stir to coat them in the glaze.
  5. Cook for a few minutes until the nuts look shiny and toasted.
  6. Transfer the nuts to the baking sheet and let them cool completely before serving.

Notes

Watch the nuts closely to avoid burning. If the glaze thickens too much, add a bit more water for a smooth consistency.
